How many U6 Pro units do I need?
Roughly one per 1,000 to 1,500 sq ft in a typical office, more where walls are solid or device counts are high. We confirm the figure from your floor plan before quoting.

UniFi U6 Pro Access Point — Supplied and Configured in the UK
The U6 Pro is the workhorse of the UniFi range — Wi-Fi 6, enough capacity for a busy open-plan floor, and the model we quote most often for UK offices.

What the U6 Pro Is For
Offices where thirty to sixty devices share a floor, meeting rooms, and any space where an older AC access point is running out of headroom. It is the sensible default unless the site genuinely needs Wi-Fi 7.
- Wi-Fi 6 dual-band with 4x4 on 5 GHz for higher client capacity
- 1 GbE uplink, PoE+ (802.3at) powered
- Ceiling mounted with hardware included
- Adopts into any UniFi console alongside existing access points
U6 Pro, U6 Lite or U6 Long-Range?
Pick on the shape of the space and how many devices share it, not on the price list.
| Deployment | Model | Best for | Client density | Power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| U6 Lite | Small offices, rooms | Light | PoE (802.3af) | |
| U6 Pro | Busy open-plan floors | Medium to high | PoE+ (802.3at) | |
| U6 Long-Range | Warehouses, large halls | Light over big areas | PoE (802.3af) | |
| U6 Mesh | Outdoor, no cabling | Light | PoE (802.3af) |
Coverage Planning Included
Send a floor plan and we will tell you how many units the space needs and where they should sit, rather than selling you one per room by default.
- Unit count and placement worked out from the plan
- Channel and power plan so units do not interfere
- Guest, staff and device networks separated from day one
FAQs
Questions We Are Asked Most
Does it need PoE+?
Yes, 802.3at. It will show reduced performance or fail to boot on a plain 802.3af port, so the switch budget matters.
Is the U6 Pro still worth buying with Wi-Fi 7 available?
For most UK offices, yes. Wi-Fi 7 only pays off with Wi-Fi 7 clients and a fast line behind it. We will tell you honestly which applies to your site.
