Cisco rates the MX67 for up to 50 users. If the site is growing past that, or needs a third WAN link, we would quote the MX75 instead.

What the MX67 is built for
The MX67 suits sites of up to roughly 50 users where one appliance has to cover the perimeter, the VPN back to head office and the branch routing. It arrives claimed to your dashboard organisation, so the site can be brought online by whoever is on the ground.
- 700 Mbps stateful firewall throughput and 300 Mbps site-to-site VPN throughput
- 2 x GbE WAN/LAN and 4 x GbE LAN interfaces
- Layer 7 firewall, IDS/IPS and Advanced Malware Protection with the right licence
- Auto VPN and SD-WAN back to head office or a data-centre hub
MX67 or MX68?
Both appliances carry the same throughput figures; the difference is ports. Choose the MX67 when the branch already has its own switch, and the MX68 when you want ten LAN ports and PoE-capable ports in the appliance itself.
- MX67 — four LAN ports, smallest footprint, entry point to the MX range
- MX68 — ten LAN ports for sites without a separate switch
- MX75 — step up when you need three WAN interfaces or more than 50 users

Yes. Meraki hardware is licence-bound — the dashboard manages the appliance, and traffic stops forwarding once a licence lapses and the grace period ends. We always quote hardware and licence together.
Can the MX67 replace the branch router?
In most cases yes. It handles routing, firewalling, Auto VPN and SD-WAN in a single appliance, which usually removes a separate router at each branch.
