What the MR36 is built for
General-purpose indoor coverage: desks, meeting rooms, classrooms and branch floors where clients are spread out rather than packed in. It carries staff, guest and IoT networks on the same radio set, each with its own VLAN and policy.

Yes. Meraki access points are licence-bound — the dashboard is the controller, and the access point stops being managed once the licence lapses and the grace period ends.
Do we need a wireless controller as well?
No. The Meraki dashboard replaces the controller entirely, so there is no appliance to buy, rack or maintain alongside the access points.
