Cisco Meraki MX68 Firewall — Supplied and Configured in the UK

The MX68 is the small-site MX with the ports built in — ten LAN interfaces, dual WAN and the same cloud-managed firewall, Auto VPN and SD-WAN stack as the rest of the range. It suits offices and retail units that would otherwise need a separate switch beside the firewall.

What the MX68 is built for

Rated for around 50 users, the MX68 covers the perimeter, the site-to-site VPN and the local wired ports in one box — the reason it is our most-quoted MX for single-office businesses and small branches.

  • 700 Mbps stateful firewall throughput and 300 Mbps site-to-site VPN throughput
  • 2 x GbE WAN and 10 x GbE LAN interfaces
  • Layer 7 firewall, IDS/IPS and Advanced Malware Protection with the right licence

Where it fits against the rest of the range

The MX68 and MX67 are the same performance tier — pick on port count. Move to the MX75 when user numbers grow, a third WAN interface is needed, or the site terminates more VPN tunnels.

What is the difference between the MX67 and the MX68?

Throughput and user ratings are the same. The MX68 has ten LAN ports instead of four, so small sites can drop the separate switch; the MX67 is the more compact option where a switch already exists.

Can the MX68 power devices over Ethernet?

MX68 variants include PoE-capable LAN ports for a handset or access point. Tell us what you are powering and we will confirm the exact variant on the quote.

Does it support dual WAN failover?

Yes. Two WAN interfaces with automatic failover, and SD-WAN policies that keep voice and business applications on the better-performing link.
