MR access points provide Wi-Fi, MS switches connect and power wired devices where the model supports PoE, and MX appliances provide branch security and SD-WAN. Match each role to your existing network rather than comparing these families as alternatives.
Meraki documents co-termination and subscription licensing. Co-termination uses an organisation-wide expiry date; subscription licensing is network-bound. Confirm the model used by your Dashboard organisation before choosing a licence or renewal.
For MX, use the traffic profile and enabled security features when comparing models. For MR and MS, verify model-specific PoE requirements and switch power budgets before building the bill of materials.

Every Meraki device is cloud-managed and licence-bound, so the hardware choice and the licence term have to be made together. We quote both, and we size the appliance on real throughput with security services enabled rather than the headline figure.
Meraki suits organisations with many sites and few network engineers. Configuration is templated across sites, firmware is centrally scheduled, and a replacement device pulls its own configuration when it comes online. A Meraki device without a current licence stops passing traffic after its grace period. We quote 1, 3 and 5 year terms, co-terminate them so every site renews on one date, and track expiry dates on your behalf.
