How many devices can an MR46 handle?
In a well-designed high-density room we plan around 60 to 80 active clients per access point, but the honest answer depends on the applications. We model it against your actual room and usage before quoting.
What does the dedicated scanning radio actually do?
It runs Air Marshal rogue detection and RF monitoring full time, so the client radios stay serving traffic. On a busy floor that is the difference between continuous security coverage and intermittent scans.
Should we go straight to Wi-Fi 6E instead?
Only if you already have 6 GHz clients in numbers. If most devices are Wi-Fi 6, the MR46 is the sensible spend, and we will say so rather than push the newer model.
