Does the U6 Lite work on ordinary PoE?
Yes — 802.3af is enough, which is why it drops into most existing switches without an upgrade.

Where the U6 Lite Fits
Spaces with modest device counts where you still want proper management, VLANs and guest networks rather than a consumer router's Wi-Fi.
- Wi-Fi 6 dual-band, compact ceiling-mount body
- Standard PoE (802.3af) — works on most existing switches
- 1 GbE uplink
- Same console, SSIDs and policies as the rest of the UniFi range
U6 Lite or U6 Pro?
The Lite is fine until the floor gets busy. Once thirty-plus devices share one access point, the Pro's extra radio capacity is what keeps things smooth.
| Deployment | Model | Client density | Power | Typical space |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| U6 Lite | Light | PoE (802.3af) | Small office, rooms | |
| U6 Pro | Medium to high | PoE+ (802.3at) | Open-plan floor |
